Mount TBR 2017 Checkpoint 2: Mount Kilimanjaro
We are halfway through the year and it's time for another Mount TBR check in! I know it's awfully cliché to say this, but the time has gone by awfully fast.
1. Progress:
I have finished 37 out of my required 60 books, which means that I am seven books ahead of schedule. If I were actually climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, I would be 10,223 feet high right now. That's pretty good, but I still own a ton of books that I haven't read yet. I still have a lot of work to do!
2.A book that was new to me:
One book that was new to me was The Odyssey. I hadn't read any other ancient works for pleasure prior to this one, and I ended up having a great time with it. I was concerned initially that it would be boring or difficult to understand, but happily, it was neither of those things. I actually enjoyed Odysseus' adventure quite a bit. Reading this made me want to give other ancient Greek works a shot.
I'm on track to finish this challenge early at this point. I am hopeful that I can keep up this pace in the next few months!
